Orthopaedic Surgeon | Hip, Knee & Trauma Specialist
Mr Surjit Lidder is a highly trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in hip and knee replacement surgery, sports injury management, and complex pelvic and trauma reconstruction.
He graduated from the Royal Free and University College Medical School, London, before completing his orthopaedic surgical training across leading London centres, including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore), The Royal London Hospital, and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals.
Following completion of his specialist orthopaedic training and examinations, Mr Lidder was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon in 2017. He also achieved concurrent recognition through the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (UK) and the Faculty of Surgical Trainers, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, reflecting his commitment to both surgical excellence and education.
To further advance his expertise, Mr Lidder undertook dual subspecialty fellowship training in lower limb arthroplasty (hip and knee replacement surgery) and pelvic trauma across internationally recognised centres in both the United States and Australia.
He was awarded the prestigious AO Fellowship, enabling advanced trauma training at the world-renowned R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, USA, one of the leading trauma institutions globally. He also completed a Master’s degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics, with his thesis focusing on the use of short metaphyseal-loading cementless stems in hip arthroplasty.
During his fellowship training in Australia, Mr Lidder met his wife, Olivia, and established strong professional and personal ties to the country. He subsequently undertook formal specialist recognition in Australia, successfully completing the Australasian Orthopaedic Fellowship examinations.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOA).
